The Industrial Canal Lock expansion project has been authorized since the 1960s with several changes in Design over that period. Its current design is shallow draft 900ft x 110ft x 22ft deep at an est. cost of 4.7 billion dollars. The goal of the expansion is to allow multiple barges to pass through the lock at once and decrease downtime of the current lock due to repairs.
NSA Eastbank apartments project is being built by renovating two of the 3 large, old naval base buildings adjacent to Poland.
